Key EFT Tapping Facts:

  1. What is EFT Tapping?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) combines elements of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. It involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on an emotional or physical issue. This process helps release blockages in the body's energy/meridian system, promoting healing and transmutation.

  2. Why Tapping Works:
Tapping has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, the body’s primary stress hormone, by up to 43% in a single session. Reducing cortisol can help calm the body's fight-or-flight response, making it easier to think clearly and regulate emotions.

  3. Tapping is Evidence-Based:
Multiple clinical trials have demonstrated the effectiveness of EFT Tapping for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and physical pain. It’s been particularly effective in reducing anxiety levels and improving emotional regulation in both adults and children.

  4. Quick and Accessible:
EFT Tapping is an easy-to-learn and family-friendly tool that can be practiced anywhere and anytime. This makes it ideal for parents and teachers dealing with unpredictable emotional situations.

Relevant Statistics:

  1. Study on Cortisol Levels:
A 2012 study published in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease found that participants who practiced EFT Tapping had a 43% reduction in cortisol levels after just one session, compared to a 19% reduction in the control group.

  2. EFT and Anxiety:
A meta-analysis of 14 studies showed that EFT significantly reduced anxiety scores compared to other interventions. This makes it a valuable tool for managing both adult and child anxiety.

  3. PTSD and Tapping:
In a study conducted by Dr. Dawson Church with veterans, 90% of participants showed improvement in PTSD symptoms after six sessions of EFT Tapping, with 60% remaining symptom-free after follow-up assessments.

  4. EFT Tapping for Children:
Research shows that EFT Tapping helps children develop emotional regulation skills. A study published in Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing found that tapping reduced children's stress levels and improved focus and emotional balance.

Other Notable Points:

  • Non-Invasive: EFT Tapping is a gentle and non-invasive approach, making it ideal for children and adults alike.

  • Neuroplasticity and Tapping: EFT Tapping can help "re-wire" the brain by calming the amygdala (the brain's emotional center) and promoting neuroplasticity, which is the brain's ability to form new neural pathways. This helps individuals break free from old patterns of emotional response and develop healthier reactions.

  • Whole-Family Practice: EFT can be used by the entire family, helping parents regulate their own emotions while also teaching their children valuable tools for emotional resilience
